Robert Ritenour
Robert W. Ritenour graduated from West Virginia State University with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Administration specializing in Accounting with Minors in Economics and Military Science. He has been a partner in Ritenour & Sons, Inc. since 1978 and has served as the President since his father’s retirement in 1993. They perform residential home building, remodeling, and light commercial construction. Ritenour & Sons, Inc. has won numerous awards from the Home Builders Association of Greater Charleston and the Home Builders Association of West Virginia for the quality of their construction projects as judged by the Best in West Virginia Awards program.
Mr. Ritenour served as an instructor for over 15 years teaching the Land Use and Home Construction portion of the Graduate, REALTORâ Institute (GRI) course, sponsored by the West Virginia Association of Realtors. Mr. Ritenour is currently serving on the Kanawha County Planning Commission and is a past President of the St. Albans Regional Development Authority.
He has served as President of the Home Builders Association (HBA) of Greater Charleston, February 1984 through December 1986, 1994-1995, 2001-2002 and 2018. Mr. Ritenour held the office of President of the Home Builders Association of West Virginia from January of 1987 to December of 1988.
In 2004 he started Bob’s Basic System, LLC. This is a computer software product he developed for builders and specialty contractors. This software runs on Microsoft® Excel and does estimating, invoicing and job costing for small to medium sized builders and specialty contractors. He has sold over 400 copies in the United States and internationally.
In 2009 he opened Rainbow International of Kanawha & Putnam Counties, a locally owned franchise, which performs cleaning, fire and water restoration, mold mitigation and insurance restoration work. He is a certified Master Water Restorer and Master Fire & Smoke Restorer by the Institute of Inspection Cleaning and Restoration Certification (the IICRC). He is also a licensed asbestos inspector by the State of West Virginia.
Mr. Ritenour also serves as an expert witness for builders and/or owners involving construction defects or damages to houses.
